We're not your typical architecture firm. We've spent years getting our hands dirty with both century-old structures and cutting-edge sustainable builds.
Back in 2011, I was restoring a 1920s warehouse in Toronto's west end when it hit me - there's gotta be a better way to honor old buildings while making 'em work for modern life. That project became the foundation for what Kytheron Quinthar is today.
The name? Yeah, it's a bit unusual. Kytheron comes from an old word meaning "to care for" and Quinthar... well, that's just something we came up with over beers that felt right. It stuck.
We've grown from a two-person operation in a cramped Queen West office to a team of twelve passionate folks who genuinely care about buildings, neighborhoods, and the people who use them. Still in the same neighborhood though - we love it here.

Years Running
Started with one warehouse restoration and a dream. Founded the studio with a focus on heritage work that actually made sense financially.
Added sustainable design as a core service. Turns out old buildings and green tech go together better than most people think.
Brought on specialized folks for urban planning and 3D visualization. Game changer for how we present ideas to clients and city planners.
Despite everything happening that year, we doubled down on neighborhood-scale projects. People needed better spaces more than ever.
Still learning, still growing. Working on some of our most ambitious projects yet while staying true to what got us here.
Principal Architect & Founder
Been drawing buildings since I could hold a pencil. Spent 8 years at big firms before realizing I wanted to do things differently. Love old brick, hate wasted space, and I'm probably too obsessed with window details.
Lead Sustainable Design
Joined in 2015 after working on LEED projects across Canada. I make sure our buildings don't just look good but actually work with the environment instead of against it. Coffee addict, plant collector.
Heritage Specialist
History nerd who fell into architecture. Can date a building by its brickwork and honestly finds that exciting.
Urban Planning Lead
Thinks about neighborhoods the way most people think about rooms. Makes sure our projects actually fit their surroundings.
Visualization Director
Turns our sketches into photorealistic renders that actually help clients understand what we're proposing. Former game designer.
Buildings should last. Not just structurally, but in ways that make people want to keep 'em around. That means designing with real people in mind, respecting what came before, and not pretending we can ignore climate change.
We're not perfect, we're still figuring stuff out, but we're committed to doing work that matters beyond the Instagram shots.
We're always up for a conversation about interesting projects. Whether you've got a heritage building that needs love or you're planning something new and want to do it right.
